This page will give you details of how to effectively incorporate blogging into your classroom practice in order to increase student engagement and raise achievement.
Blogs are useful for communicating with not only your students and parents, but also other professionals and people from around the world! We know that Web 2.0 tools in our classrooms can assist in increasing student achievement--blogging can be the first step toward that endeavor!

Also see the following classroom blogs to see examples of the various ways in which blogs can be utilized in your classroom:

The following three websites are great examples of how to use blogs for Information purposes:

http://campbellhighschool.typepad.com/german_suarez/ This one is Spanish so you may have to reach into the depths of your inner Spaniard:)
Both of the following blogs illustrate how blogs can be used to organize your lesson plans/units of study--essentially how a blog can be used as your class website.

And finally, although the following is actually a wiki, this teacher has done a fabulous job of tying all of the different purposes for a blog together in one. Notice that he also manages it well by assigning "class scribes" to update the wiki. Not only does this assist students with their reading, writing, summarizing, and technological skills, it also makes your life easier!!!
