Today we spent time learning about iWeb and uploading to CyberDuck. You were given the chance to finish your website and any other projects you are working on. Please respond to this post and let us know the following things:
1. Something NEW you learned.
2. How you are going to use something you learned in your classroom.
Again, it is our hope is that you will be able to see how others plan to use the content in their curriculum and cause a brainstorm of discussion. Please do not feel you only need to post one comment, if someone posts an idea that causes you to think of something else, please feel free to post multiple comments.
Super information - I-Web is easy to use with Mike & Herman's explaination
Garage Band is a great way for students to produce a presentation on a area they are studying. They can use it to present to others in class / other classes or the web. It helps the to have ownership of their work.

I figured out how to use iDVD today, including how to add a movie, slideshow, and how to shorten the music running during the menu slide.

I have learned soooooo much this week. I knew these things were possible, but had no idea how to do them.
I am planning to make DVDs for substitutes to use so they can use my powerpoints without needing my computer.

I got a trial .Mac account. used I chat.
IDVD frustrates me--no DVD burner so how to keep things - no hands on closure.
I learned I need time to work on things, think about things. My arms are not wrapped around this just yet.
Before I leave I want to put pictues on the ipod and maybe my book.
When I'm home I'll find things to do. I don't have very much digital because I didn't have a digital. I now see the use for a digital.

Today I learned how to make an iDVD. I'm really excited about this because I can drop slide shows into the iDVD to make individual movies for students. For example, at the end of the year, I post pictures that the students have taken during the year to the ALP website. I can now make each student a DVD after I have taught them to make a slide show in iPhoto and then to move it to iDVD.

I am working hard on getting comfortable with iDVD. Just need time!! I think my students are more comfortable with all this info than I am. Appreciate the patience of instructors. Am looking forward to practicing before next class in July. I need time to plan ahead with pics/film. I am not understanding exactly how to launch a web site, but like the blog and chat.

I can see many uses for iDVD. I also think it is going to take a good bit of practice time to be happy with my results but I do have the rest of the summer! I think you can really do some impressive looking projects with it and I'm looking forward to using it. I have really enjoyed the class this week, even though my head was usually full by 10:30 AM everyday! I'm not usually a laptop or a MAC user, so I felt like I was learning to write with my left hand. I'll keep working on it everyday and I'll fight with that PC when school starts! LOL! Thanks for a great class, see you all in July.

I waited to send in this comment, because I wanted to show off the I-DVD I created for my parents' anniversary. They just viewed it the other day, and they were very surprised at its professional quality. It really looks amazing; the software is essential for your technology project needs.
