What is a Blog?

So what is a blog and how can it be used in education?

A blog is a type of website that is usually arranged in chronological order from the most recent ‘post’at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom.  They are increasingly being used by administrators and teachers to communicate with parents, students and members of the community.  Many educators are creating educational blogs for students as part of class projects and assignments.

The following articles will assist you in describing the benefits for teachers and students:

Blogging in Cobb County

Cobb County is currently supporting the use of Typepad.com for school weblogs.  Schools can purchase an account that will entitle the school to an unlimited number of individual teacher weblogs.  Support and training is provided by the local school's Technology Integration Specialist.
