Today I will be training the staff at Smitha on Google Docs. Google Docs is one of my favorite (if not my very favorite) Google Application. Below is a video on Google Docs and a Presentation on Google Docs. After watching these, please discuss in the comments area how you think you could use Google Docs in the classroom and with your co-workers.
I am in the training right now. I think this is an excellent way for my students be able to work on their classroom tasks from home.

I am looking forward to using Google Docs for sharing resources with other counselors locally and across the U.S. I also look forward to archiving photographs and creating presentations for my grandchildren!

I'm actually most excited about using this for something similar to the example. My husband and I do the neighborhood directory each year and updating it is a lot of trouble and very time consuming. This way homeowners can update their own information.
Thanks.

I'm really eager to get started with google docs simple because I can advance my technology knowledge and share the information with my daughter and family members. I'm presently in graduate school and I can share this with my peers especially when we have our team projects to complete.

Well that was easy! Just uploaded my "United States of Matter" PowerPoint to Google Doc. Idiot proof system and quick too. Can't say I'll ALWAYS use it as a means of sharing but it sure has its place. I'm thinking of the last science county cluster day when we were making revisions to science lessons on Picasso, you literally had 100's of people trying to pass around jump drives and keep everything straight. Google docs would have been SO much easier. Thanks for the training...Later, Dean

This would be a useful tool for communication between the parapros. I look forward to finding other uses for collaborating.

Thanks Anita for sharing your knowledge of Google Docs with us ! I will use this tool in the next few months to organize our annual family reunion in Orlando. It usually takes many e-mails and phone calls to coordinate all the members' travel plans. This year it will be sooo much easier!

Google Docs are cool....I want to find more ways to use them to make my life easier.
Here is a form I used on the Rising 6th Grade Website.

I will use Google Docs for student interaction in Read 180. I have not explored the "how" yet, but I am sure it will be a useful tool for my students.

Google docs is a great way to share info. in a not so formal way. It would be a great way for students to share what they are having difficulty with in a given unit and address their needs through warm-ups/ mini-lessons.

Anita,
I appreciate having this tool through Google. It will make vocabulary list and common assessment creation much easier because teachers can start a document and each one can individually add and edit as necessary in one file. Thank you, again.

This will definitely be a useful tool for me when I return to school and have projects with team mates. Everyone can do their part on one document. I also liked the idea of using this tool to communicate with others when organizing an event.

Google Docs made it simple to create my Powerpoint and allowed me to quickly share my work. I appreciated how easily I was able to receive feedback from my colleagues.
